Jimmy Jia, Managing Partner, grew up within walking distance to the ocean and forests of Central California, where he learned the value of environmental stewardship early on. As an entrepreneur, author and strategist, he uses energy as an indicator of corporate governance and strategy responsibly manage consumption of natural resources.

Currently, he is a Venture Partner Advisor at PiLabs, sits on the board for the Center for Sustainable Energy and is a Visiting Scholar at George Washington University. It was in his latest book, the Corporate Energy Strategist’s Handbook, that he proposed the Energy Statements as a metrics framework for improving management of energy resources for better climate outcomes.

He received his BS and MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Oxford. Read his personal reflection on his energy path: 20 Years Later

Carey Gersten, Managing Partner, brings a career of over 30 years developing markets and deploying leading edge business solutions ranging from Fortune 100 to start-ups including Microsoft, Brooks Sports, Statistical Sciences and Geographic Data Technologies. He knows how to align and stage performance driven programs with expertise including a programmatic approach for deploying cross-functional, multifaceted initiatives that achieve defined business results.

He received his BA from Colgate University, and MBA from Boston University, with independent studies in computer systems and applications at Wesleyan University. In addition, he has been nationally certified as a Sustainable Building Advisor through course work at Seattle Central College. He has been a National Outdoor Leadership Educator and has served on the boards of several not-for-profits that have helped to improve local and regional community including the Washington Water Trails Association and the Food Forest Collective.

Evan Taylor, Managing Partner, is a serial biotechnology entrepreneur with global experiences, who works on projects beyond sustainability and toward restorative models inherently improving the environment and local ecosystems. He believes businesses should strive for restorative cycles in their supply chains and operations, not just carbon neutrality and renewable resource utilization.

He is actively involved in supporting regional economic development, consulting in startup advisement, project planning, and financial modeling for new ventures in the environmental, biotechnology, and sustainable energy & agriculture spaces. Furthermore, he’s led commercialization and product development working with a small environmental sensor instrument company on 5 awarded Phase I, Phase II, and Phase IIB Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, have lived and worked in Ghana and Bahrain. Currently work in Tempe, Arizona.
