This retreat will feature students and alums of Pinchot University, University of Washington, professors and practitioners, serial entrepreneurs and thought leaders across the variety of industries you call your professional home.

Facilitate sessions will address four main questions:
How do leaders develop themselves?
How should the individual be responsible for their community?
How does a community increase the quality of life for its future generations?
How should a community improve its health?
This retreat will give participants a chance to make connections with like-minded individuals across industries, sectors, and generations to apply their skills in making the world a better place.
Speakers:
Julie Pham is VP of Community Engagement & Marketing at Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA). Previously, she worked at Microsoft, Avidian Technologies, and Northwest Vietnamese News, which she co-owns with her family. Pham also serves on the board of Social Venture Partners-Seattle, Community Involvement Commission for the City of Seattle and is Chair of the MLK Business Association. Pham’s many accomplishments include being named to Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 under 40” list and to the lists of Women of Courage: Braving New Horizons. She graduated magna cum laude from UC Berkeley and holds a PhD in History from Cambridge University. Pham was born outside Saigon and immigrated to the US with her family in 1979.
Matthew Scholz is the Founder and CEO of Immusoft, as well as the Chair of Oisin. With a background in computer security, Matt crossed into creating biological inventions. Immusoft has a breakthrough platform for treating a variety of genetic and other serious diseases, while Oisin seeks to forestall age-associated degeneration and disease. Expansive and provocative, Matt shares his vision for the future of medical treatment.
Heidi Yu is the CEO and Founder of Boostinsider, a marketing platform that boosts its customers through the world’s strongest social influencers. Before that, she was the founder of Pocomaru, an Apple device accessories store. As CEO, Heidi is known for her enthusiasm and incredible energy. Heidi offers her thoughts on the future of Social Media and Retail Marketing.
Manal Shawish was born and raised in Jordan to refugee parents. At age 14, she received a scholarship to a four-year program for outstanding students with high intellectual ability. She then pursued a degree in architecture from the University of Jordan where she harnessed her creativity and innovative mind. Her big dreams and ambitions led her to the United States soon after graduating. Here, she finds joy working as an architect, and translating her client’s dreams into reality. Her concern for others and desire for justice makes her yearn to make changes in the community. She recently graduated from Presidio Graduate school with an MBA in Sustainable Business and a great experience running the Diversity and Social Justice group where she used her leadership to shed light on some of the social issues that the world is facing.
